Back to school @ 30?!

What a long absence it has been from this lovely space.. ! I’ve missed you.

There have been a lot of things going on around here. A lot of peaks and valleys and many changes that I never expected to happen in my life. God does have his ways of turning your life around a complete 360. 2018 has definitely been unpredictable so far, I’ll tell you that much. On a side note, can you believe it is June already? We are half way through the year! Wasn’t New Year’s Eve, like, yesterday? Flabbergasted.

Now, if you are curious about the title of this blog, you read it right. I’m going back to school! College, to be exact. And yes, I am going to be all of 31 years old this October and I have a 19 month old in tow.

I’ve had a lot of varied responses regarding this. Most people ask me how I will balance studies with home life and the baby. Truth is, I don’t have a clue. I have a lot of support and some structure in place, but there’s nothing foolproof about it. Things are uncertain in life; sometimes you just have to close your eyes, fall backwards and hope the safety net is under you.

College starts in a few days, and I find myself wobbling in a seesaw of child-like excitement on one end and utter nervousness on the other. I go back and forth and then take a deep breath and remember: “If God brings you to it, he can get you through it,”

It is with this belief that I put my best foot forward in this new phase of life of going back to sit in a classroom after 7 years. I am so very grateful to be given this opportunity that I never thought would happen for me in this lifetime. I’m thankful for the people in my life holding me up and allowing me to do this. I know my son will  adjust to seeing less of me during the day, and I hope that I will get used to it too!

Here’s to throwing caution to the wind and taking a leap.

It’s never too late to give up on your dreams.

Till next time.
